A Diamond in the Rough

“Modelling for Aarong back then was tough for me, because I was in the same frame as models who were much senior to me. Then I realised nothing comes easy in life. You need passion and dedication for things to fall into place,”

Be it the billboards or a fashion show runway, modelling not only means business, it means hard work. This month, we speak to a preppy yet ambitious model who has landed among the stars in a very short time. From photo shoots to the ramp, Tanjia Zaman Methela has surfaced as one of the most loved faces in recent times. But when she’s not modelling, she enjoys the little pleasures of life. By watching films and travelling to exotic lands, Methela gives herself a much deserved break every once in a while. Methela says, “I love watching horror films the most, especially when I’m home alone. I really like testing myself to see if I can overcome my fears.”

Her journey into the fashion industry began with a photo shoot for popular brand Aarong. “When I received a call for the shoot, I was in class. I was over the moon when I got the news.” Deeming Aarong as a stepping stone to her modelling career, Methela considers her highs and lows in the industry as a very humbling one. “Modelling for Aarong back then was tough for me, because I was in the same frame as models who were much senior to me. Then I realised nothing comes easy in life. You need passion and dedication for things to fall into place,” she stresses. The stunning Methela concludes by saying, “Those who are enthusiastic about modelling should learn to think like a model; only then they can become successful in this line of work.”
